What is a Parrot Head?

Parrot Heads are an international non-profit organization
of people that get together because:
1. They enjoy Jimmy Buffett's music.
2. They enjoy looking after their community.
3. They are involved in protecting the environment.
4. They love the tropical lifestyle (and maybe a boat drink or two).

Meet the people responsible for this whole mess.
Give them a piece of your mind. Lord knows they've lost theirs.

In April 1996 Jay Davis & Martin Haire held the first gathering of the club at the Lemon Coast Grill in downtown Sarasota. There were 8 members in attendance- month-by-month, year-by-year – we keep growing. There are now over 600 members in our Parrot Head family participating in monthly events, parties, and community projects.

The Sarasota Bay Parrot Head Club Inc. (Sarasota FL) is a social club for people who like Jimmy Buffett's music! It is a non-profit organization dedicated to community service and the enjoyment of the lifestyle of the tropics. We are an official member club in the international network of Parrot Head Clubs- Parrot Heads In Paradise, Inc.

Nationally, Parrot Head club members come from a variety of backgrounds. Most are professionals, with an average age range between the mid-twenties and mid-fifties. Although membership numbers vary greatly from club to club, our clubs have an average membership of 150. The real beauty of the Parrot Head clubs is that they seem to attract exactly the right kind of people - people who, through their attraction to Jimmy Buffett's music, also have a number of other interests in common, most importantly the desire to give something back to the communities in which they live.

Our club members willingly donate hours of their time and effort to volunteer help and raise funds for various organizations: Alzheimer's Association, Mote Marine Lab, Reef Ball Foundation, Manatee Youth Runaway Shelter and All Faith’s Food Bank are among the organizations which receive our efforts.
